How on Earth did it get to be Thursday when I was going to post my Alemany pictures from Sunday ON Sunday? Sometimes I think I must have some weird sort of time warp/amnesia going on, because the week has been a blur.
We saw the beginning signs of fall at the market this week, with peaches starting to look forlorn, McIntosh apples appearing, and fall squash starting to come on the scene. We also tried a little experiment due to sleeping in: showing up after noon. While some stalls were picked over by that point, many of the vendors were dropping their prices rather than trucking their wares back home. And I’m never one to complain about a bargain.
Here’s what $35 will getcha:
- Sweet potatoes
- New potatoes
- Globe eggplants
- A bag of mixed salad greens
- Mint
- Parsley
- Mixed peppers
- Carrots
- Grapes
- McIntosh apples
- Peaches
- Plums
- Raspberries
- Strawberries
- Baby heirloom tomatoes
- San Marzano tomatoes
- Zucchini blossoms
- Bread from Panorama bakery
Let’s zoom in on the blossoms, because they are delicious little things of beauty:
Oh yes. I love them. And soon I will tell you what to do with them!
